Flash cookies create their own file, not in the common cookie location. A new generation of un-deletable, long term cookie; the "Super-Cookie", has been unleashed. This new generation cookie offers unlimited user tracking to industry and market research; exploiting Flash and DOM Storage objects. Flash-cookies (Local Shared Objects = LSO's) are pieces of information placed on your computer by a Flash plug-in. Those Super-Cookies are placed in central system folders and so protected from deletion. They are frequently used like standard browser cookies, but their threat potential is much higher than conventional cookies. More frequent utilization and deployment is being noted, and these "Flash-cookies" reside in special folders where they never get deleted! (This is one current example of the fluid nature of the Net, and the need for constant 'Threat Landscape awareness'). Prevention, not deletion, is the key to managing them as well as other cookie varieties and malware infestation. Control these monsters with "Better Privacy" for Firefox. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/collections/dunbar-pappy/dunbarpappy/ Deletes LSO's upon exit from FF, or can be deleted manually: Tools> Better Privacy> (lower right corner) tick "Remove All (or specific) LSO"

Well if you use Google Chrome/Mozilla Firefox like you're supposed to because they are the best browsers out there, then you can delete cookies in the browser without using software to do it. CCleaner is a Registry cleaner, and does other things. Basically it helps make your computer faster when it's running slow. Cookies is something completely different. CCleaner is a good way to keep your computer "tidy" (you don't need to keep cookies on your computer unless you WANT to have them there for faster loading e.g. Banking etc. I use CCleaner with AVG 2011 and Malwarebytes as a means of keeping my computer free from viruses and esp TROJANS (having had some bad experiences about 18 months ago). I run CCleaner at least once a week - sometimes more (althogh not necessary). AVG 2011 runs automatically everyday and I run Malwarebytes every two or three weeks. I have had NO PROBLEMS with my computer for 18 months. Just what I like :-) Hope this helps.
