What Is My Ip Location?

My ip address or my location is showing up somewhere else? Hmmm?

  • So at my old place my ip address was pulling up in denver, and now my ip address is pulling up in Aurora. I live in Lakewood and it doesn't make sense to me as to why my address or my physical location is showing up in different locations throughout the state, anyways the IP address in Aurora, Colorado is showing up less than a mile from BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE "BAFB" I don't know what it means although if anybody could elaborate on what this issue I am experiencing is?

    An IP address will identify as being at the address where its' owner registers it. This will be you ISP's issuing server. This can be in a different city, county or state. In rare cases it can even be in a different country.

Did you have a fixed IP ? If so then contact your ISP and explain your showing in two locations. If you didn't then your old IP might be allocated to someone else on DHCP, you will have a new IP. if you trace the IP route you should be able to see if the issue is showing at 2 ISP's or just one. It could be they just need to reboot a switch in your old location to flush the Mac tables etc.

Your IP address change if use different networks. When you are home you use your own IP address and when you move somewhere else and use another network then you will get another IP address and it will another location. Your location depend on website that you use for tracking. They often use different IP database.
