Safe ad blocker for Google Chrome?

• I HATE ads and pop ups with a passion! Can anyone recommend a safe ad blocker that I can install for Google Chrome, that won't cause viruses etc but will stop ads popping up all the time? This particularly happens when I'm watching videos, if that makes a difference to the type of ad blocker I should use. If you could briefly explain how to install it as well that would be brilliant, I'm not especially computer-savvy but can follow instructions haha. Thank you! :)

Stop using google chrome. Use SRWare iron > http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron.php it is a chrome browser without the (legal) google spyware. or even better, there is comdo dragon > http://www.comodo.com/home/browsers-toolbars/browser.php .
