Try renewing your membership. If you never signed up, you probably had a trial membership when you bought your laptop. Now it's time to pay!

renew your membership!!

You might want to avoid grisoft avg, it doesnt protect you against trojans, i found out the hard way.

Another reason why I would never recommend McAfee. I've been there and used that. McAfee is shite. McAfee is like the cheapest of the cheap products available. They have a very good advertising campaign which will boost your confidence in their product but it is really basically: crap. If you want to try a half decent anti-virus software then try Norton. Even better, get AVG for free (as posted by a user above) which I use. AVG is by no means the best, but it normally detects things pretty well. McAfee is low quailty, cheap trash. It once ruined a previous computer when I was forced to upgrade the McAfee scan engine. I was forced to re-install windows 98 3 times trying to upgrade. I ditched it and went for Norton which did the job. Good luck J

Buy a subscription. If it won't even scan any more, you probably had a 60-day trial version... your free ride is up, now you need to buy a real license, for McAfee or another anti-virus tool of your choice,

you have to pay them for the code to make it work shareware is software they let you use for awhile to see how you like it. if you decide you want to keep it then you pay them for it and they give you a code to make it work longer than the 30 day free trial.

mcafee sucks you can't even delete it off your computer if it's not current you must re-subscribe for a year

You have to buy the new subscription, the same thing happened to me and i got so pissed off. Mcafee is much better than Norton, even though norton can sometimes be a little cheaper, stick with mcafee.

If you don't want to pay to renew the subscription, go to www.grisoft.com and download the FREE AVG Anti-virus program. Then delete McAfee.
