How can I save my computer desktop's background as an image/pic?

Can your computer get an virus if you save a picture to your computer and set as background?

  • For example if you save wallpaper from an official movie website Or if you search pics on yahoo save it on yourcomputer and set as background!!!

  • Answer:

Regardless of *how* you find the file, transferring it to your computer can cause "damage" to your system, if the file has been corrupted. Add to that, that dfepending on the nature of the picture, simply downloading or copying it can be Theft. Good Luck!

Download the photo with Firefox and it will automatically scan it for viruses before you open the file. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ie.html

Scan everything that you're downloading!

You can get viruses when you go into pictures or anything if you do not have security protecting it. Viruses are waiting every where.

possible but not likely, most JPEG's are safe, you will however run into a dirty one here or there or a jpeg that really isn't a jpeg but an '' exe'' file in disguise, it's rare but it happens, just scan all wallpaper you download, right click on it and scan it with whatever antivirus you use.

After finishing the download you can scan it for any viruses. Use mozilla firefox to download any images. Whenever a download is complete it scans the file for virus. If you download or save images from trusted sources there will be no problems.
