try this one... start > all programs > accessories > system tools > disk cleanup... then, check the box labeled "Temporary Internet Files" then press press ok.

It is ABSOLUTELY not possible to delete all history manually. Everything can be easy traced even all history erased... Remove the old harddrive (evidence) and install a new one (never been used). Install any operating system to the new harddrive. Take a hammer and smash the old harddrive to pieces. Results- clean computer. It's amazing what forensic investigators can find even after a thorough format...hmmm?

To make your computer as clean as new computer seems impossible unless you replace your hard disk. But for normal "cleaning"... for normal browsing, delete history, cookies, temporary internet files will do. To clear the recent search, hover on the recent search entry (don't click on them) and press delete. Depends on your browser, though. If you open files directly from your pc, don't forget to clear the recent documents (go to taskbar and start menu properties (right click on taskbar>> properties) in start menu tab>> customize. clear list in both general and advanced tab). If your media files are in recent list in media player, Search the registry for that name and delete (MRU) the record (Start >> run >> type regedit. Edit >> Find... . Type keyword of the filename(name that displayed in the list) >> Delete the specific value from the registry). Press F3 to continue searching for that keyword. Careful when modifying the registry as it can cause damage to your computer.) But it is easier using ccleaner or other cleaning software.

Use ccleaner. It will remove everything.
