i just downloaded malwarebytes and i am currently scanning. it is comepletely free right?

Well not really an answer but another question.First,it's funny that I too am shown to have 41 threats.My question is about this program. I googled it after already finding this page.And discovered that it may be a (legitimate) highly rated program as well.Anyone know if that's correct.Either way it seems like simple scare tactics.But it's a pain in the a@@.

I have the same thing happening... same amount of threats too and it is DRIVING ME CRAZY!! help!!

I've scanned with MalwareBytes and Spyware Doctor - neither has worked yet. It IS NOT antivirus - it is SPYWARE.

Download installation file of Malwarebytes Anti-malware (mbam-setup.exe) to another computer. Transfer the file to infected computer using pendrive (USB flash drive),.Try renaming the mbam-setup.exe if installation fails. Try renaming the mbam.exe if the program installs, but doesn’t run. (if you cant download on another computer try doing it in safe mode with networking.,)

You know i was just abt to ask the same question cuz i GUESS i got Green av SOMEHOW (idk who put it in my comp!!) And this red box pops up all the time telling me i have 41 threats 2!! And EVERY website i go to is "a reported phishing website" WTF!! I can even enjoy my internet anymore!! ill come back here if i find an answer but if you DO find an answer PLLLZZZ TELL ME!!

I really don't have the answer, however I have web root anti virus that I paid for when I bought this computer. Also have geek squad. When the same thing started to pop up on the screen yesterday I ran a sweep and still it came up. So Geek squad told me they don't really know what it is but I should be OK. I hope we get an answer soon. It is starting to become annoying.
