My PC goes in Standby mode?

I tired starting my pc in safe mode and now it won't start at all it just goes to the safe mode scrn evry time

  • I don't know how to get it to reset the safe mode.

  • Answer:

As usual, while you want to boot your OS in safe mode you should use "F8" button exactly before your OS beginning to boot. So, you can use it and select "Normal" option. But I think while your OS is booting in safe mode, it means your OS has some problems, including changing the hardware or conflict with new softwares. So, try to change into previous settings. If you are using of "Window XP" use "Restore Point" option in Accessories folder. You can restore your previous setting by this option. Good luck

while it's booting up, keep pressing f8 until you see a screen that ask if you want to go into safe mode or normal.

if the PC has a problem i.e missing drivers, failed hardware ETC ETC it will automatically start in safe mode, the OS has reconized there is a problem and will allways start in safe mode unless you fix the problem. I'd ask the following questions What was done the last time the PC was shutdown did you install anything new? Try looking into the event viewer for error messages this will give you a cluse to whats wrong

Tony

reformat it

Check your settings. If you put the computer into safe mode, you are setting it up to open in safe mode every time. You can "undo" this in settings.

As the computer is starting up, start tapping the F8 key. Eventually, a menu will come up allowing you to decide how the computer should start (safe mode, normal, etc) There ya go!

tap F8 a lot when you restart your computer. choose your OS, and make sure it's not the safe mode kind. hope this helps.

You can try going to the start menu, click run, type msconfig, select the boot.ini tab, uncheck safemode. Or you can try typing c:\boot.ini into the run dialog box and deleting /safeboot.

If your PC came with Windows already installed then you should have a Windows Recovery CD. There is a chance that you will need to reformat your hard drive. But, you should see if you can save your files before doing so. In the bios, make sure your PC boots from the CD drive. Next, place the Windows recovery cd in to the CD drive. Now, instead of booting from the hard drive, it should boot from the CD. Follow the prompts and, once in Windows, find the files you want to save and copy them to a CD blank or an external hard drive. Once you have saved your files, you can start to diagnose the problem with your PC. Now, boot your computer again without the recovery CD. Press [F8] or whatever other key you need to go in to safe mode. There should be several options available on the menu. Scroll down and choose reboot using the last good configuration. See if this solves the problem. It is times like these that a live CD like BartPE and/or the Ultimate CD Boot Disk could help you. But, you need to already have created them before the problem occurs. You can search these two items on Google for more information.
