How do I get nasty spyware off computer?

How do I find spyware/keylogger on my computer, get rid of it, and possibly use it for my own.?

  • I'm pretty sure one of my parents put spyware on my computer, directly, not through internet. They have admin powers just like me. They aren't smart enough to do on own, so I think a neighbor did it. How do I kill it, and or use my own spyware/keylogger to see what they are doing with their spyware.

  • Answer:

I'd recommend using some spyware/adware scanners to start with (please visit http://www.myslowpc.co.uk and see the forum (linked below) or the Troubleshooting section). A process explorer tool such as "Process Explorer" should also help you check over your system - again, linked below. You may like to consider if a hardware device is being used? E.g. has your keyboard been changed lately? Potentially these can be used to conceal logging hardware. Perhaps also take a good look through the Window's and Program Files directories on your machine, ensure that hidden files and protected OS files are showing. Just have a look for anything modified recently that you're unsure of and perhaps search for further information - don't just go deleting. As for using a logger for your own advantage - I guess you'd have to look into that for yourself. With regards to all of this - perhaps it's best to have a chat with your parents? Are you actually doing something you shouldn't be? Good luck!
