What does the daily routine of a Network Administrator consist of?

Is it posible for a network administrator to track the web sites visited by each user/computer in the network?

  • Our office computers are in a network. Few systems have access to internet. The network administrator has the right to give internet (DSL connection) access to the users. What if we clear the history and temperory internet files from our system?

    there are progrmas that can be installed that make a log of which user acessed which sites and it saves that to the server of the netwrok which can be access by the network administrator.

There are ways of tracking internet use while it is in use, meaning that by the time you erase it the tacking has already taken place. Erasing also doesn't mean that it is gone, it is not very difficult to find out where a person was surfing. If you wnat to visit certain sites that you do not want your employer to know about - I suggest you not use the computer at work. People have been fired for misuse.

they will still know what you looked at because they can setup the server to not only log what you are looking at, but they can actually view it while you are doing it. This has been decided by the supreme court to be legal. Second, there was a court case not to long ago that also makes it harder for an employeer to terminate an employee for surfing the net. however that doesnt mean you cant be fired.

If they check yes they can.....I have known of people getting fired because of sites they went on and was found out.
