Where do computer viruses come from?

  • Who or what creates computer viruses? I was told that they are 14 year old kids. If they create them, don't they get viruses themselves? Why do they do it? Don't they understand the hassles involved with them? Why don't school and college computers ever get viruses while home computers get them every time they turn on? What do they have that normal people don't? Do you think that the world will ever be virus free? Could it be possible to stop creation of new viruses and wipe out all existing ones and start from scratch? I am writing this because I am freaking tired of viruses. I can already tell that my computer is slowing down after I reformatted my computer a month ago! Why do people have to freaking do that?! RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Ok well people create viruses and not just 14 year olds. Most of the viruses you have to worry about are written by adult, professional programmers who are trying to use viruses to get access to details such as bank accounts so they can steal your money. In my university studies one of the assignments we had in programming was to create a virus as well. Of course one that wasn't malicous in any way. School and college computers have security. Proxy servers and firewalls that block unwanted content from appearing on the networks. Your home computer generally doesn't have these things and has to rely on secutiry installed on each computer such as software firewalls and virus scanners. Normal people don't have that level of security because it's expensive. The world will never be virus free, as much as operating system developers try. It's only ever a matter of time before security features are cracked. As long as people use computers and particularly use them to do their banking and shop online and so forth there will be people making viruses.

Have you ever thought of the possibility that the companies who deliver us the antivirussoftware could be spreading the viruses themselves - pay the people who design and unleash them! For without the viruses who would need their products?

computer viruses come from malicious software that you download not knowing that it gives you viruses eg. limewire or when you visit pornograted sites, that gives you trojan horse. computer viruses are created by the site or program publishers coz when you hav virus on ur pc, they can track ip addresses and check emails and wat not. school and colleges computers dont get viruses coz no one there visits pornograted sites or downloads malicious softwares or DO YOU. and for you info viruses are not ppl they r malicious software that want ur ip address. the world will never b virus free. it could be possible to stop creation of new viruses and wipe out all existing ones and start from scratch. and for you, u can get rid of virus 4rm your pc by using spybot search and destroy. it is free and and very effecient... hope i helped you.......

Money making scheme If you really want a good 99.9% virus free pc then try linux OS. try distros such as ubuntu. Why make a virus if the OS is free anyhow?
