How To Delete Folder with Powershell?

Can't delete folder in Windows 7?

• I had backup a game on steam by creating this folder in my documents. After creating this backup, I moved that backup to a external hard drive. Now, when I try to delete this folder I created for it from my main drive, I get the error message: "Could not find this item: This is no longer located in G:\users\X\My Documents. Verify the item's location and try again." when I click on and open the folder, it refers to a location that is unavailable...this information might have been moved to a different location. My computer is virus free because of weekly scans so I don't think that is the problem. I tried rebooting and I still see it and still can't delete the folder. I tried dragging it to the recycle bin and even tried renaming or making altercations to it with no success. I also tried moving files into it, but it only created a second folder with the same name which I can I delete. Is there a way I can safely delete this folder?

  Let me make this plain and simple There is a right way and a wrong way of doing things. You have moved this file to another drive. windows does not know where you have moved it to, and it can't delete the folder because it is a backup folder, and windows knows at some stage in the future it will need to restore that file, so windows will not allow you to delete that backup folder, Now should you delete that folder. and you come to restore that file in the future you will find that it will not restore from the external drive. because the path and directory will not match windows information file stored in the systems.ini files, advice! copy the file back to where it came from. If I remember right highlight the folder with the file in it, by right mouse clicking on it and click on move to the external drive. That way windows will know where it is for future reference.
