How do I remove the current version of Yahoo?

How can I remove the firewall protection on the new updated version of Yahoo?

I downloaded the new version of Yahoo and I have two noticeable problems. One I cannot open attachments to an email; the openeing process goes through a step called "veryifying" which takes a very long time; in my case, I have not been able to open any attachments. The second problem is that there is a window in the middle of the screen which I cannot get rid off; I would like to get rid of that window. To be honest, I prefer the old version rather than the improved new version, and I would like to return to that version. How do I do that? Thanks for your help.
