Why am I getting duplicate emails from same sender all of a sudden?

Can I make emails sent to my pop3 account bounce back to sender as I'm getting loads of spam?

  • I'm sick of getting unwanted emails to my main account so If I could switch it off for a while, they'd all bounce back and hopefully stop arriving in the long run. Is there a program on MAC or PC that can do this?

    Just want to say that I agree with the 1st answer..ie use mailwasher ..it's great & its free. It lets you read the emails at the server before d/loading & YES! you can bounce back emails to the sender before you get them. http://www.mailwasher.net/

Switching off your account Will not make them bounce back, it would be great if it did then we could all do it. When you re activated your account you would have to wade through thousands of spam. The best bet is to make a new account for personal use and give it to friends and family only and keep your old account for registering on line. In Yahoo i move all the mails in my bulk folder into my in-box then mark them as Spam, this adds the address to my banned address folder,the only problem is that there are thousands of accounts set up to send out spam, so unless the ISPs do something we are limited in our actions.

incredimail has a feature to do that...u right click on the unwanted email, select block sender and it will also ask u if u want to bounce the email back to sender

If they are in your e-mail, all u have to do is click on spam and they will block that address from sending u e-mail.
