Is she hacking me?
-
i have reason to believe that my ex wife is hacking or trying to hack into my computer. we split up about 6 months ago and last month we tried to work things out. in one of our convorsations she mentioned that she had gotten the ip address of the computer i had been emailing her from and looked up my new address. i didnt think much of it until now. i was checking my myspace account the other day and i noticed some of the html in my account had been changed/removed. i had an idea it was her but i couldnt prove it. so i changed it back and let it go. then i checked my yahoo email. there was a message from myspace asking me for permission to change the email address on my account to her email address. so i sent her a message telling her to quit messing with my stuff. i changed all my passwords. but then i got to thinking... maybe she remotely put a keylogger on here. is that possible and how would i prove/stop it? thanks in advance

Answer:
You can prove it that if she has installed a keylogger in your pc, by checking your startup items, and the date/time of the last write access of the said keylogger or monitoring software installed in your pc, Even if you change your password she's still gonna get them, check your startup items in msconfig, and your services tab also, look for unusual programs there, and their path. After determine the path of these files, check the timestamp of the last write access, by this you may determine if she has put this program in your pc.

It is possible she put a keylogger on your machine but i doubt it. She prob just knew your password allready. Check all the programs that are running on your machine by doing cntl alt del and go to task manager and see all the process and applications that run. Having your IP means nothing. get a good firewall like Tiny or some other free firewall that will ask before sending anything over the internet. "a program is trying to access the internet, do you want to allow or deney?" then you would have to say yes to this invisiable keylogger to send her your keystrokes. Now that your passwords are changed just keep a close eye on changes. A firewall will stop a keylogger from emailing her if you have one installed. Sounds like you got a stocker!! good luck getting rid of that one! Ignore her!
