How do you get rid of a Rundll error message?

Where to begin...RUNDLL errors at startup, soundMAX error message, HP quick launch buttons, and more...?

  • First of all, I apologize if I sound ignorant...it's because I am. My laptop is in a pretty bad state. It's unbelievably slow, and when I start up, there are four (yes, FOUR) error messages. First error message: RUNDLL Error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\susuposo.dll The specified module could not be found. Second error message: RUNDLL Error loading c:\PROGRA~1\HEWLET~1\IAM\Bin\ASTSVCC.dll Third error message: SoundMAX Your audio hardware configuration has changed. You must re-install SoundMAX. The fourth error message has something to do with HP Quick Launch buttons. I accidentally closed out of the message before I could write down exactly what it said, and didn't necessarliy feel like rebooting again. It takes a really long time to restart. But it said something about clicking OK to debug and CANCEL to exit, I think. Then it attempts to load, but than says an error has occured and HP quick launch buttons must close. Then the "report this error" message. (as a Windows user, that't nothing new...). This all happens EVERY TIME on startup. Then, there's there the websites that keep popping up every 5-10 minutes. "precata.com", "pantomi.com", and others. Windows then tells me that the website has been reported as unsafe, and that it is recommend I do not continue to the site. That, or IE says the web site cannot be displayed. It's incredibly annoying. I went in to the Temp file and tried to delete, but couldn't, because it was "in use". So I download a program called Unlocker to delete it. It works, but it doesn't take too long for it to come back again. I've done an infinite amount of scans with an infinite amount of anti-virus crap. AVG free, Spybot, Ad Aware, so on and so forth. They seem to find trojan viruses, or whatever they are (trojan something), and seem to heal it, but everytime I do another scan, they are all there again. Even if it's thirty seconds later. To say the least, I'm fed up. What the heck can I do to get rid of this crap and get my computer running faster again? (I'm posting this again because last time, it was in the wrong section)

  • Answer:

Go to your start menu, click run, type in msconfig Go to the start up tab. Uncheck any programs you know you don't need to launch at start up (messengers, media players, quick time, java, etc.), and uncheck the programs that are giving you the error message. Then click ok and exit with restart. Your computer should boot up much faster. When you reboot you'll see a box informing you about the changes made in msconfig. Click cancel and exit without restart. The random websites popping up is a bad sign. Go to http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?tag=mncol&cdlPid=10983733 and download AVG free edition. That should help with your pop ups, and any other viruses and spyware you didn't know you had. If you're still having problems after updating AVG, running the scan, and getting rid of your problems send me a message and I'll work out a more detailed fix for you.
