How do I get rid of Antivirus XP 2008?

  • Hey guys, I need your help. Big time. I'm normally pretty smart about this stuff, but I've been infected with Antivirus XP 2008 and I can't get rid of it. I need to get rid of it ASAP! Anybody else had a problem with this? What was your fix? Thanks, I can give a bunch of points (if I can figure out how to) if somebody can help. Thanks a million!

I got this last night and it took like 4 hours to get rid of it and I'm not even sure it's totally gone. After doing some research my husband and I used Malwarebytes.org free program. The problem was that the virus had gotten so far that I couldn't access it on my computer because it kept redirecting my internet browser. So we had to download the software to my husband's computer, put it on a flash drive, and then upload it to my computer. It cleaned it up but we still couldn't get the desktop back to normal from the blue screen and we didn't want to mess with stuff in the registry. So we created a new user profile hoping to get around it - the desktop options are there in the new profile. But I was on there this morning checking my email and it looks like it's still affecting some internet functions. Makes me worried... so I'm going to do some more work on it tonight. But Malwarebytes was a start and it came highly recommended elsewhere on the net. Good Luck! EDIT: I went home and ran Malwarebytes AntiMalware again. It found a few more files that I deleted and now I'm back to normal!

omg this thing is sooo annoying. i got my virus from downloading a video downloader or something. i got it earlier today. its easy to get your background back and get rid of part of the virus. its wicked hard and confusing. it says i deleted it and its not on my computer but comcast and searching on google wont work. im not really sure what to do. First you need to stop the program from loading on startup. This is what you do to stop it: Start, run Type msconfig Go to Startup tab Uncheck lphc35dj0e1an Uncheck rhc75dj0e1an Click apply, then ok Restart computer Then you need to delete the main files this program uses. Delete the following file: C:\windows\system32\lphc35dj0e1an.exe Delete the following folder and all contents: C:\program files\rhc75dj0e1an This should remove the program from your system but you probably still have a warning message displayed as your wallpaper in Windows and the virus removed the ability to change the wallpaper or your desktop settings. To restore ability to change your desktop settings and select a different wallpaper and screen saver do the following: Start, run type Gpedit.msc Navigate to User configuration, Administrative Templates, Control Panel, Display Right click on Remove Display in Control Panel Click on Properties and select Disabled Do the same steps to change the following attributes to disabled: Hide Desktop Tab Prevent changing wallpaper Hide Apperance and Themes tab Hide Settings tab Hide Screen Saver tab you can now get a different background but the virus is still there. thats why i did but comcast still doesnt work. those steps helped but i still dont know what to do.

Folks, this is easier than expected. I also spent hours trying to get rid of the antivirus xp 2008, with the warning on my desktop. I spend four days and hours - even with the help of a "knowledged" friend. I went and bought spyware software (Defender Pro - $20.00). The scan took over four hours, said it deleted the viruses - and didn't work. I went to Best Buy this morning, and bought Norton AntiVirus 2008 ($43.00 with tax). It has a Incredible Hulk on the box. It took maybe an hour - and it worked. All you have to do is install the CD, register the product - and scan for virus, and then let them be deleted automatically.

yeah easy! what is antivirus xp 2008? What this programs does: XP Antivirus 2008, XP Antivirus 2009, and XPAntiVirus are rogue antivirus programs that, when run, display false results as a tactic to scare you into purchasing the software. Older versions of XP Antivirus would create 9 entries in your Windows Registry that impersonate infections on your machine. In reality, though, these registry entries were harmless and had absolutely no effect on your computer. Instead, these entries were set so that XP AntiVirus can find them when scanning your computer and report them as infections. The newer of versions of the program , such as XP Antivirus 2008 and XP Antivirus 2009, instead just display false results when scanning your computer that state infections were found. In order to remove these fake infections, though, you would first need to purchase the software as the trial does not allow you to remove them. How to remove Antivirus XP 2008 http://www.pcthreat.com/parasitebyid-6952en.html ntivirus XP 2008 (or AntivirusXP2008, AntiVirXP08, AntivirusXP 2008) is a rogue antispyware program. This program is a clone of Xp Antivirus, XPAntivirus2008, Antivirus2008, Antivirus 2008. Or you can say that Antivirus XP 2008 is just XPAntivirus2008 by another name. Just like Xp Antivirus, Antivirus XP 2008 uses fake pop up messages, fake security warnings to trick user into buying "full" version of Antivirus XP 2008. Usually users can infect them self with Antivirus XP 2008 through a Trojan, like Zlob. Antivirus XP 2008 usually launches when user starts up Windows. Antivirus XP 2008 can generate tons of ads or pop ups that are very difficult to close. Users should remove Antivirus XP 2008 as soon as possible to safe their privacy and data!
