What's My IP?

What's the risk of giving my external IP to someone and also providing them with my Paypal email account?

  • What are the risks of providing someone with both, my external IP AND my email address which is associated with my Paypal account? I've been hired by someone to do some work for them (to post some contents on their website) and for that I gave them my external IP which made it possible for them to provide me with a more direct 'contact' with their website which enabled me to work faster and complete the work sooner. Now..I've already given them my external IP. Now it's time for them to pay me for the work I've done so I should provide them with my gmail address which is associated with my Paypal account. Am I putting myself at risk by doing so? How much can one do with someones external IP AND the email address associated with Paypal account? Would it be possible to say..somehow gain access to my email inbox and come into control of my Paypal balance? I am asking that because I've read somewhere that gmail can be easily hacked into (somehow through chat). Tnx a lot for all the advice!

Na. They cant do anything with it... Unless they hack thru your IP and able to gather info about your password... Then you are in trouble.
