How Good Is Speedmaxpc?

I am using Fsecure antivirus do i need any other protection?

  • I have frontier/verizon internet. I pay $2 a month for fsecure antivirus. I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SUPERAntispyware. Should i keep all three or is Fsecure enough. Also my computer seems to be a little slower than when i first started using it, i know it will slow down a little when you start to download things. Should i use a registry cleaner, i've run speedmaxpc scan, it found like 604 errors. if so which one. Any help would be appreciated.

Stay away from any online scanner, most of them are scams to get you to buy their useless crap. This speedmaxpc has a poor rating from WOT (web of trust), so it's not legit. I hope they did not infect your PC already. By the way, install the WOT addon tool to all your web browsers, it's free and does a great job in keeping you off the nasty web sites. Also never use IE (internet Explorer, it sucks, it's the worst and most vulnerable web browser. Use Firefox or Google Chrome (both with WOT). Get a good Firewall, like Zone Alarm, as the Windows Firewall sucks. Try this: First test your Windows Firewall with this little leak test utility: http://www.grc.com/lt/leaktest.htm You will see that it will penetrate your Microsoft Windows Firewall. Install Zone Alarm or Comodo Firewall (both are free). Zone Alarm is by far the best firewall. http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/trialpay-za-signup.htm Rerun the Firewall leak test and you will see that it cannot not penetrate Zone Alarm or Comodo, you will get a prompt asking if you allow communication or not, just choose NOT. Your system is not protected by a solid Firewall. Also get CCleaner for registry clean up. It's the best. As far as antivirus, BitDefender and ESET Nod32 are the best pay antivirus and Avast or Avira are the best free ones. Your Fsecure is OK, but not amongst the best.

MBAM and SAS aren't antivirus. They are only classified as antispyware so pairing them with your F-Secure AV will not harm your computer, even if it's the Pro version. However, try to minimize the use of too many active antispyware. They can slow your internet as all data passes through them. Just select one antispyware -- either MBAM or SAS -- but personally I would choose MBAM. As for registry and computer hard drive cleaners, I prefer to use CCleaners over any other products. It seems to do the job for me.

The best antivirus out there is free. Its called Common Sense. If something looks fishy, don't click it. Sounds like a scam? Don't visit it, or at least read up about it. Virus scanners should be a last resort if something does go haywire, and should never be left running if you are trying to keep the most speed you can get.
