What does certificate error navigation blocked mean?

Secure site does not have valid certificate?

  • My company has this Outlook 2003 web login without a signed certificate. My IE (v7) always shows a Certificate Error: Navigation Blocked page and asks me to not to continue to the website. Is there any way to trick IE that this is a trusted certificate and not show this warning page?

  • Answer:

This is what happens when your IT department signs their own security certificate, instead of using a third party certificate issuer, such as Verisign (or whoever.....) This is a bad way to save a few bucks, and generally goes against "best practices"....

Go to tools, Internet options, and down in security, you can change to allow or not warn you. If it has a * you will have to restart your browser to take effect.
