Google doesn't work (google.com) on any computer?

Should I download and install the google pack?

• http://pack.google.com/intl/en/pack_installer.html I need something to protect my computer. i have windows defender and i am keeping that but i dont really think it is the best. my norton trial ran out and the free spyware doctor is not cutting it. only the intelliguard is useful and it has prevented a bunch of things. the google pack has norton and spyware doctor (almost) full versions. but i am away of downloading anything from google if it will make the spyware situation worse. i can uncheck the boxes for google toolbar and that other ****, but still. i also have lavasoft adaware and spybot s&d. i am positive spybot doesnt pick up everything and lavasoft doesnt either. so spybot is gone now. although i think lavasoft is pretty good. i dont think any free antivirus or antispyware software really does the job good enough. i also cannot find any good cracks on piratebay that work, so the google pack seems like a good option. any advice or tips on this? thanks

  1.) I need something to protect my computer. For a windows PC, you need a good antivirus, a good antispyware and a good firewall program. There are other things you can implement but for basic protection: A.) Enable your Windows Firewall (if you have disabled it). If you want more advanced protection for free, get Comodo Pro Firewall. It's truly amazing how good its level of protection is. Plus, Comodo's Defense+ offers more protection than an average PC user requires. Get Comodo from: http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/ B.) Get a free antivirus program. Despite all the reviews you'll read about other programs, Avira AntiVir is the best antivirus not only in terms of detection rates, but also in terms of how little memory it uses. Get Avira from: http://www.free-av.com/ C.) Windows Defender suffices as an antispyware program. But if you want a better alternative, Give Spybot another try. Spybot Search and Destroy does a great job. And plus it immunises your system even before the attack occurs. Get Spybot here: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html 2.) The google pack? You don't require the google pack. Whatever you require you can download by itself. Google Desktop, Google Earth, whatever you need, you can get it instead of getting the pack only to get a couple of applications that you MIGHT need. Just get a good combination of protection utilities and stick with it. You don't need 2 antivirus programs running at the same time or two firewalls for that matter. It'll do more harm than good. They'll end up conflicting with one another.
