How can I delete inbox.com from my computer?

How do you delete windows antivirus 2008 off your computer completely? (full details please)?

  • Antivirus 2008 is a malware thing somebody downloaded on the computer by accident. Alright they got tricked. Its one of those hidden programs that is hiding on the computer system. It slows it down, gives you pop ups and viruses and destroys the computer. I noticed i uninstalled it but when i go control panel>add or delete programs its still on there. Its hard to come off since now it took over my computer. Spyhunter or whatever its called didnt do the job. :[ They talk about how XPantivirus 2008 tricks you into downloading the free version so u can purchase the full version but i already scanned my computer with Spyhunter and in order for it to delete ANTIVIRUS 2008 off the computer i have to buy it. smfh their doing the same thing antivirus xp is trying to get people to do. and i dont want to do that. Don't download it if you see it. So does anyone a free way to do it?? Kill it off of my system??? Using what program or what method? I already tried to search for it in MY COMPUTER but it doesnt show up. Its sneaky.

  • Answer:

That virus corrupts your anti-virus software - so that will need to be uninstalled. I would backup all of your wanted data (documents, pics) & completely reload your operating system. Go to download.com and download AVG for your anti-virus, it's free. That virus is crazy - seen it hit a lot of people!

Hi, you can delete this by using Spybot or SuperAntiSpyware. Both are good, and both free. http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html

Firstly, antivirus programs will NOT remove these as they are malicious codecs, although they may find reference to them and remove it but upon rebooting it's back again. Therefore you need to use a 'layered' approach to removing this parasite which has been successful in hundreds of removals. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?hhTest=1. Download, install, update and select Full Scan. Remove all infections that it finds after scan. Spybot S&D: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html Download, install, update and Immunize, turn off Tea Timer then click 'Check for problems' then when complete select all and then 'Fix Checked' Spyware Doctor Free Basic Edition - Realtime monitoring: http://pack.google.com/intl/en/pack_installer_new.html?hl=en&gl=us&ciNum=12 Its free with Google pack, untick all boxes except Spyware Doctor. Download install, update and run. SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition: http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html Download, install, check for updates, then select Scan your Computer, select your drive and select Perform Complete Scan VundoFix: http://www.symantec.com/content/en/us/global/removal_tool/threat_writeups/FixVundo.exe Disconnect your computer from the internet Run vundo Restart your computer Run the tool again to ensure no traces are left. If there are the reboot into Safe Mode and run FixVundo again. If your desktop has changed or icons are missing also use: Wallpaper Hijacker Removal Tool: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Wallpaper_Hijack_Remover_d4816.html Note: You should hit all "Repair" buttons even though it may not say "Found!" This will fix a wallpaper hijack everytime if all repair buttons are pressed. A-Squared Free: http://www.download.com/A-squared-Free/3000-2239_4-10262215.html This is not a limited version but a full tool to clean your computer from Malware, Spyware, Trojans, Backdoors, Worms, Dialers and Keyloggers. How to use: http://cotojo.wordpress.com/2008/07/07 If the problem persists, turn OFF System Restore and scan with the above programs in Safe Mode, Right click My computer > select Properties > System Restore Tab > Tick Turn Off System restore on all drives. After scans are complete and machine is clean remember to turn system restore back ON and create a new restore point. Once your scans are complete and your machine is clean, uninstall some of the programs, I suggest that you keep Malwarebytes for manual scanning, Spyware Doctor for realtime monitoring and Spybot. The remainder can be removed to save drive space, but you may want to keep the installers for future use.

Here's a comprehensive overview of XP Antivirus 2008: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/08/22/anatomy_of_a_hack/print.html Here's Eset's blog about it: http://www.eset.com/threat-center/blog/?p=142 Here are some REAL anti-virus utilities: http://www.eset.com/purchase/ http://free.avg.com/ I get a lot of results on Google about how to get rid of it, but I don't recognize any of the websites listed so I'm kinda suspicious about them. Keep in mind that that's a common trick, the promise of getting rid of spyware and viruses only to introduce more spyware and viruses and possibly not even getting rid of the spyware and viruses it claims to get rid of in the first place. The best way to make sure you're virus and spyware free is to do a clean reinstall of Windows. Sorry, but them's the breaks. It's my opinion that instructions on manual and complicated virus and spyware removal only puts off the inevitable for people who don't want to do a clean reinstall of Windows and it often makes those who do offer such solutions look like saviors. The best way to keep yourself safe is to practice safe surfing skills. DON'T open attachments, DON'T click on fake believable popups, DON'T run programs or installations from untrusted or unknown websites. Drill this into your friend's head. In short: Don't get tricked. Be skeptical and suspicious.
