How to retrieve the email address of the sender of an email that I have "deleted forever"?

I deleted an email earlier today from my trash and know that I cannot recover the email. However, I was wondering if there is any way that I can get the email address that it was sent from. There are no other emails from this person in my gmail account at all, so I can't get the address to reply to the person. Is there any way I can get this address, such as a "recent contacts" sort of thing or anything? There was only one incoming email from that address, I didn't send one back. Please help!

You can't. All I can think of is contacting Gmail.
