Why does my pc say no virus protection detected?
-
My pc always says no virus protection detected when I first log onto it, but I have E-Z anti virus installed and it says it is operating and up to date.

Answer:
What service pack of Windows XP do you have? SP1 or SP2? If you have SP1, it usually doesn't detect all the anti-virus software loaded. If you have SP2 and you're still seeing this error, that just means it doesn't recognize "E-Z Anti-virus" as a "common" anti-virus software distribution. Don't worry about it. You can go into Windows Security (through control panel) and disable the annoying windows notification for this.

there are some antivirus programs that Windows xp SP2 cannot or does not want to detect. you can goto Windows Security Centre either thru the Red shield icon or Control Panel and the select "I will monitor my antivirus..." or whatever it says, from the Virus Protection option.
