HELP!!! What's the best way to get rid of Antivirus xp 2008?

The best way to deal with this automatically is to download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from http://www.malwarebytes.org/ It is a very good program and is also free to use. There is a very good step-by-step guide here to using it that will help if you get stuck. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malware-removal/remove-antispyware-xp-2008 The only change I would make to this guide would be step 7, were I would select a 'Full Scan' over a quick scan. If your desktop back ground has been changed you will find once you have run the scan and rebooted that you will need to change your desktop back ground back to what you want. I would also suggest that if you do not have a current up to date anti virus installed that you get one. There are plenty of free anti virus programs available for you to choose from. I would suggest Avast, which is free for home use, and I personally find it to be a very good program.
