Photobucket users...help?

Photobucket redirecting to Atspace.com/Not loading.?

  • Yes, I realise Photobucket was hacked a couple of hours ago. I was not accessing the internet during the the time of the hacking, nor for the fixing. However, when I go to photobucket.com, atspace.com loads. If I attempt to access an image directly from photobucket.com, it gives me Page cannot be displayed. I have cleared my temporary internet files, cookies, cache, DNS cache, restarted my computer, everything I can think of -- but Photobucket is still displaying atspace.com. Anybody have further answers?

  • Answer:

You are the second person (that I've seen) who is being redirected to the same page. I'm accessing the real Photobucket without problem. This is the answer I gave the first person, but she hasn't given any indication if it helped. If it helps you, please post back saying so, so that we know... I believe you have a browser hijacker. CWShredder is effective in removing many hijackers. > CWShredder: http://majorgeeks.com/download3019.html And regardless of whether CWShredder fixes the problem or not, I'd recommend following up with a full system scan with both Superantispyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. > Superantispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/ > Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html

It's 6/18/08 11:30am PST... and I've been getting redirected to atspace.com each time I try to access photobucket.com... does anyone know when this problem started and when it will be fixed? This is so annoying...

I don't have an answer, but I'm having this exact problem. Veeery irritating. I tried the same things you did, nothing worked. The link given by the guy up there didn't work either /: ...I miss my photobucket. Hope someone figures it out soon.

No solutions here, but I've been having the same problem since late last night. I've tried tried all the usual solutions -- clearing out temp files & cookies, running extensive spyware scans using 4 different programs, and I even ran a fully system virus scan with AVG which took 5 hours -- STILL can't access photobucket or view any photobucket links at ALL. It's very frustrating...

"Can’t access Photobucket? Follow these steps… June 18th, 2008 This article is to help those who still can’t access Photobucket. The actual background to what happened can be found here. Because the problem with Photobucket relates to a hacked dns entry - and this is supposedly now resolved - most people should have access again However, because of the nature of dns, and the way that it is distributed around the Net, for some this can take up to 24 hours to resolve. If you don’t have the patience to wait, and want to do something about it, here are some things you can try: 1. Try clicking on the following. These are direct links to Photobucket: http://209.17.74.21/ http://209.17.70.11/ http://209.17.66.11/ Not working? On to the next step: 2. Flush your dns cache: - Click on Start–> Programs –> Accessories –> Command Prompt. - A little black command prompt opens. In it type: ipconfig /flushdns - Hit return. You should see the lines: Windows IP Configuration. Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache. - Try accessing Photobucket again. - You might try to restart your computer, just in case. Mac users (except Leopard): Finder windows Applications –> Utilities –> Terminal and type in lookupd -flushcache, then hit return. Leopard users: Open a terminal window and type in dscacheutil -flushcache, then hit return. Still not working? On to the next step: 3. Well, you could contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider), and explain the problem, and if they have enough users complaining, they will fix it on their end. Or you could sit tight and wait until it resolves itself in a day or two (a downer, I know). Good luck. Let us know how you get on!" Taken Directly from: http://www.thatdanny.com It worked for me. Hopefully it will work for you too. I used one of the direct links and then everything worked again.

On Tuesday afternoon, some users that typed in the Photobucket.com URL were temporarily redirected to an incorrect page due to an error in our DNS hosting services. The error was fixed within an hour of its discovery, but due to the nature of the problem, some users will not have access to Photobucket for a few hours as the fix rolls out. It is important to note that only a portion of Photobucket users encountered the problem and that no Photobucket content, password information or other personal information was affected by the redirect. You may want to try clearing your cache/temporary internet files, refreshing and then accessing again; please attempt again in a few hours if you do not have access immediately. We thank you again for your patience in this matter. Sincerely, Your Photobucket Support Team
