Is there a way to fix home folder permissions remotely?

Windows Photo Gallery can't open this picture because you don't have the correct permissions?

• I keep a folder on my desktop called "Pics," and put all the funny/cool pictures I find on the internet there. Within Pics, I have folders to organize different pictures so it's easier to find whatever I'm looking for. However, out of the blue, I can't open some of the pictures in these folders anymore. It happened to maybe a few out of some folders, but it's very bothersome - it happened randomly without me performing any changes to the pictures or moving them at all. Instead, I get a message saying "Windows Photo Gallery can't open this picture because you don't have the correct permissions to access the file location." I also can't open the pictures in Paint or any other program. Here's the worst part though: I can't delete the pictures or any folders containing the corrupt pictures. It tells me I need administrator permission (I'm the only one using my computer, and I know I have administrator status), but when I press continue, it pretty much just says it didn't work - and if I press "Try Again" it still never works. What on earth is going on with these rogue files? Is there any way to fix this? Sorry for the question being so long.

  Sorry, I don't have an answer, but the same thing is happening to me right now. I've tried everything for the past 15 hours straight! Everything you stated is going on and it don't make any sense!
