How to make perfume ?

How do you make your own cologne/perfume from your own ingredients?? (NOT those oil mix yourself kits)?

• not that I would actually use it, but I was wondering how they actually make perfume and cologne. I know they use natural things like flower petals, but what do you do with them? I want to do it because I like making my own things, especially out of natural ingredients and when they involve chemical reactions. So what are all the ingredients and steps involved in making perfume and cologne?

  Classic Cologne 'Very Old' Manner (around 1850) With some adaptation to 2007 (!). :-)) ______________________________________ Ingredients Parts by weight ______________________________________ Dried Lemon Peels 500 Dried Bergamot Peels 500 Dried Orange Peels 300 Lavender Flowers 150 Dried Thyme 50 vodka 5000 --------------------------------------… Keep in Contact 10 full days or more. Distillate until 2000 -2500 is passed over. Ad 1000 of water to the distillate. Then distillate again this distillate until 1800 - 2200 is passed over (yes...again), this make the result sweet and light and expensive... You have a sweet and fragrant Cologne. A real 'Old Cologne', well, almost: the NEROLI is missing in this mixture (to be added just before putting the heat on - 50 part...). This product is of no use today. Too faint, not enough lasting effect. But this a real old receipt. I have some others just as much impracticable. I did have made them, just for fun. Well, you can drink them if you don't like the smell as cologne... It's like Benedictine (french alcohol digestif, Venerable liqueur Benedictine) Hahaha!
