What to do at a modeling casting call?

• okay, so i'm going to an open casting call at Ford models in NYC, probably in a week or two and i am extremely nervous because I'm scared of getting shot down, but that isn't the problem. i just want to know: -what to wear -what to expect -how to act -will there be a lot of others there -since im 14, i go with my mom, right? -im just curious as to how the process will be, and i really need some help. thanks sooo much! =]

  Be realistic, there is a chance you will be shot down. There may be only 1-2 girls out of up to 200 who ever get a callback from an open call. And the average model is in contact with 5 agencies before she finds one to sign her. Don't limit yourself to Ford. You need to at least send pictures into as many agencies as possible, http://models.com/agencies/top/ You need to wear something that shows off your body and makes you look as tall and thin as possible - skinny jeans, leggings or a mini skirt, high heels and a fitted top. Only wear very minimal makeup, or they will give you a wipe and make you remove your makeup if they think you have too much on. Hair should be pulled away from your face You never know how many people to expect - it could be 20 girls one week and 200 the next. If it's a small group, you'll be called one at a time to go into a conference room in front of a panel of agents, asked your name, age, then they will ask you to walk back and forth across the room. They may measure you if they think you look too thin or too heavy. At the end they will take a Polaroid of you and tell you they will be in touch if they are interested. If its a large group, then you'll be called into the conference room with 5-10 other girls, and may only keep one in the room while they dismiss the others. You should go with your mother, but she will normally have to wait in the lobby. Most girls under 18 are there with a parent. They won't give you a yes or no at the open call. After everyone leaves, the agents go through all the Polaroids and decide who, if anyone, will get a call back. If you are chosen they will call you within 2 weeks.
