How do I get thinner arms and legs?

How can I get thinner legs, thinner arms and a flatter stomach by August?

  • I can't do sit ups as they make me sick as I have vertigo and I can't go running because of my bad knee. I'm going on holiday in August and I want to look goo in my swim suit.

  • Answer:

I have an aerobics class and I get taught about nutrition and stuff so here it goes! Since you can't go running then all you have to do is walk, since walking only burns 20% less calories than running. Doing something cardio is the best ways to burn calories. If you want to lose 1 pound a week then eat 250 calories less a day than what your eating now and burn 250 calories a day. (or 500 less calories instead of excercising) This is the healthiest way to lose a pound a week. Never go on a fasting diet because it slows down your metabolism which means when you eat again you WILL gain more weight. Also you have to know how many calories your SUPPOSED to eat in a day because 2,000 is not accurate for everybody. (I'm only supposed to have 1,300 and minus 250 calories from that) http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ Walking will help thin out your body you may have to do extra weights/ pushups for your arms. Just remember to eat healthy and drink water then by the time August comes you will be all set. Trust me this is the healthiest way to lose weight because your still eating everything your body needs!

Your kidding right . You get vertigo ( fear of heights) by sitting up.

My friend as vertigo and she is one of the best athletes in my year at school. She takes medication for it. It's not an excuse, you can get some. Eat less (like 1200 cals a day) Get light dumbells (no more than 5kg) and do arm toning excersises with them (find some on google) Get an elliptical, it's recommended for people with bad joints as it is extremely low impact, and is very good cardio. Stationary bikes on low resistance and swimming will also be good excersise. Pilates/yoga to tone up.

I presume that you are on some sort of reducing diet, as weight loss will help with a thinner and flatter body. You could try checking out your local leisure centre to see if they run Pilates classes as these might help to tone you up a bit. Swimming's good too - even in the swim suit that you may already have. If you pick your times and go when it's quiet, no-one will notice you and you won't have to worry about not looking good!

eat less! And do a water based sport like aqua aerobics which wont stress your knee or swim a lot

do exercises sat down (the same as disabled athletes), re-look at your diet and cal intake, and make sure you buy the right swim suit to flatter your body shape.

You want a magic trick? If you can't exercise, you can't lose weight. Try crunches instead of sit ups. They are more effective and shouldn't cause dizziness. For your bad knee, I would suggest getting a support and walking, kick boxing, callenetics, pilates, etc...total body workouts, not just focusing on certain body parts... Vertigo = Dizziness, not fear of heights.
