What are good model agencies in New York?

Becoming a male model?

• Im interested in becoming a male model for an agency out of new york. I was with a local agency with employed around 150 male and female models but it was tough finding good jobs. I have a friend that worked for Silver Model management who suggested me to the company, i sent them a few pictures and they said they were interested and to call to make an appointment. I called the guy my friend talked to and he claimed he was too busy to talk and sort of brushed me off so i decided not to consider that agency. Now... how would i go about getting the interest of other companies in new york? does anybody know of any good New York agencies? im not sure what theyre looking for, im more a fitness type, which is what Silver Models was. any suggestions and input is appreciated.

  Depends on what you are looking for. Im assuming since you havent been discovered yet, you are more commercial. Also depends on your age, height, weight, how photogenic you are. Models.com lists all the top agencies. Then next you have Click, Red Management, Abrams Artists, CESD, Gilla Roos, Model Service, Funny Faces. Ford and Wilhelmina are great as well. Google them to find website and give them a call. Ask if they have "open call" times where anyone is welcome to meet an agent. Its very quick and can be harsh in terms of getting "no we arent interested" so be prepared. If they dont have open calls ask if they have online submissions. Best of luck.
