What to expect in Bath and Body Works interview?

Whats It Like Working At Bath & Body Works? Just Got Hired!!?

  • Okay I am 22 years old, and my husband has a full time job so I was looking for something as well. I recently (last Thursday) got a job interview at Bath and Body works (with 3 other girls) .. I got a phone call today saying I got the job (They checked my professional referance already and they just needed to check my personal and then I got the job. They didnt call back yet b/c my reference I just found out was working and didnt get off till 9. So what Im asking, is when I do get called to come in for orientation, what can I expect? Mostly I want to know 1) What are the hours? How long are the typical shifts? I read online somewhere that some people get 3 hour shifts is that true?? 2) What does it pay? 3) Is it easy to move up in the company? Thanks!!

This is one of those companies that does have competitive pay, it all depends on how much you can sell. If you can have the highest sales in your bracket, you will without a doubt be promoted. All stores are a little different but generally, they care a lot about keeping things in order so the store looks nice (It is beauty after all). It will also work in your advantage to be easily approachable for customers, so learn as much as you can. The more you know about all their products (When new things are comming where old things went, special deals etc) the more customers will come to you for questions, and you'll be able to make those sales. And above all - most importantly, be trustworthy. You can move up to doing nightly deposits if you are a trustworthy associate. Ask your manager any questions you have about how you can prevent shrink (theft) in their store. During the Christmas season it will be packed, so keeping an eye out for shoplifters will put you in the managers good graces. (Here is a strategy I've used before- You see someone pick up a tester and walk away with it, descretly follow them, if they do not seem like they will put it back ask them for it- because you have another customer that would like to see it). Hours mostly depend on the time of year. (Around here). And again, pay is competitive so I couldnt really guess what you'd make. You have the advantage of being a little older than others at the store, which will bump your pay up some.
