Are eyelash enhancements/extensions OK/safe for someone who wears contact lenses?
-
A friend of mine who is a cancer patient has had her hair grow back much thinner than before after her last round of treatment. The only place you can really tell easily is her eyelashes. Her hair is cut to make it look fuller than it really is, her eyebrows are easy enough to "fix" - but her eyelashes are very sparse and not growing back. I will take her to have those semi-permanent lashes added to fill them out but have some concerns because of her contact lenses. Will the lashes bother her lenses in any way? I've never had them done myself but know my contacts can bother me over almost nothing. Also, if they do bother her, how difficult are they to remove? (the lashes, not the lenses) How long do they generally last? She also wears waterproof eyeliner and uses Neutrogena eye makeup remover at night. Would she still be able to use that or will that damage or even remove the lashes as well? Oh, and about what is average price for eyelash enhancement/extensions? I know what the day spa I use charges (I asked) but they're spendy on everything and she would be horrified if I spent that much on eyelashes for her. I know I can get it cheaper but want to know what the average is so I don't go too cheap or too expensive either. I would love to hear opinions/facts from both women who have had it done and from beauty technicians so I hear both sides of the issue. Sorry if my question seems a bit oddly worded or anything. English is not my first language and when I'm tired I can have problems phrasing things correctly. lol! I hope you get the idea. Thanks in advance!

Answer:
Yes they're abdolutely fine ((((missdementia)))) as long as she practices safely - ie doesn't apply her mascara before inserting them, just like normal. Also, some lenses will be better than others - a daily disposable lens will eliminate any build-up of debris due to the fact that they get changed every day. Is she notices any discomfort, dischagre, redness etc then she should cease wearing them immediately and consult her optician but as long as she's careful and follows her hygiene regimes she shouldn't have any problems. ...
