How do you get bigger hips and curvyness?

  • basically i am about 5'6/thin, long skinny arms and legs and no curves. ive tried muscle building but i am vegetarian so i only get my legs a little bigger and then they end up going back down to normal again. i just want to know how i can get bigger hips or make myself look more proportional. not straight up & down. do women who have hips just have more fat on the side of their legs, or is it muscle? if so, what can i do to get mine bigger? squats only seem to help my legs, i never feel anything in my butt or hips. same thing with lunges. what can i do to target the muscles? thanks

    Try the muscle gain weight products, they seem to help alot. Eat healthy though and dont over do it we dont want the curviness to be fat. The most effective way it to get a trainer that can help you work in specific areas

You cant get bigger hips and curvyness just by eating and working out...its genetics!! even pregnant women.....the people who said get pregnant...there are women who had boyish bodies and after a baby they STILL had boyish bodies with a pouch now...Its all genetics...no workout plan or eating habits will guarantee curvy hips, and a big round butt..you gottta be born with it baby!!

There is not alot you can, it is in the gene's. If you eat alot there is no guarentee of the weight going to those areas.

Do you want to hear something funny? I used to be real skinny. I only started weighing over 100 lbs when I was about 21 or so. I am 5'2". Well, needless to say, I weigh about 30 lbs. I still don't have hips or a curvy waist, all the weight went to my stomach and thighs. My advice would be to do three things: 1) continue to work out. here is a decent website for exercises: http://www.exrx.net/lists/directory.html. also, try some protein shakes with your workout 2) find some clothes give you an appearance of being more curvy than you are: pants that are boot cut or flare, shirts that are tight at the top and more loose at the bottom or fitted shirts with a nice push up bra or those shirts that are made so that they curve even when you don't 3) accept yourself for how God made you. everyone was made different. the most important thing is that you are a caring person who is genuine and fun to be around and you will attract the right person and stares. that may sound clique, but alot of people think I am attractive and my chest is small and I am not curvy-they are drawn to who I am as a person. I hope I was able to help. P.S. When I got married and became EXTREMELY sexually active, I got a little bit of hips. Not much, but more than before! LOL!

Wide hips are a combination of wide hip bones and a predispostion to storing fat there. You can't build up the hip area, as there is little muscle there. Sometimes, you can give the impression of wider hips, by making the waist smaller, ie corsetry. As for the legs and butt, you can definitely build up muscle if you want more definition and volume in those areas. Try kickboxing aerobics and do plenty of squats and lunges, leg raises and squeeze your buttocks as much as possible! HTH : )

well i would see a personal trainer but im 5'7 with an hourglass.iits not really fat or muscleon the hips. its the bone that you feel. you have to be borwn with big hips orwhne you go to puberty you gte them. its your bone structure.

You can decide to go with pregnancy, but you don't want to do this for the sole purpose of your hips. You can try different targeting exercises. There are various ones that covers different muscles in your butt, thighs and hips and help to contour them, this may be your only safe way. If you were always thin and lanky (skinny arms and legs) then you will always be that way. Even if you have kids. Most of the time people that are thin like you to start with, later on in life when they gain weight the only place it accumulates more is in their stomachs, known as the apple shape, or the unhealthy shape. So I would not advise you to go gorging on Yodels and various Hostess delicacies unless you want to gain unhealthy fat. If you notice that a certain exercise isn't doing it's right job, then the problem lies with you. When you do squats, in order to have an effect on the muscles in your butt you must tighten the muscles in your butt cheeks. Walking is another way of getting most of your body toned up and in shape. Try doing this first for awhile and then incorporate different targeting exercises.
