How to develop a smooth singing voice?

  • My voice has become a little raspy and I want to have a smooth singing voice again, something like Katherine McPhee? Are there any remedies to help make my voice sound smooth?

    drinking water before singing always helps your throat clear so your voice comes out a lot more soothing. Don't scream to much, because resting your voice always makes your voice healthier, which lets you sing better. A home remedy is hot tea.Green tea, herbal teas and honey, or any other hot tea helps your voice a lot, and it feels really good. This next one sounds pretty gross, but once a day gargle with salt water for at least a minute. It's really good for your vocal cords, and your throat in general. just keep working at it, practice makes perfect :) hope this helped :D

You want to know what my method is? While i'm in the shower, I hum. To me, humming helps you get use to high notes, by making your humming flow, and making sure your humming doesn't break or jump while humming a high pitched song. A song that I hum is Fallin' by Alicia Keyes. Just hum the high and low notes in a song, it will get your vocals use to the feel for different notes. Once you got one piece of a song down in hum, sing it, and use the way your hum flowed during your sing. You will notice your singing will sound so much smoother and way better! Make sure you clear your throat, drink some water, and never give up! Good luck!(:

I would say practice all the time and start out low then higher and put your hand on your throat to try to get the right tuneage
