Answer:
Take an Early Bath. Give yourself a nice Body Cleansing. Apply Essential Oils from KHADI or FAB INDIA to give you that extra Glow. Or you can go for a Body SPA from any good Parlor. Wear comfortable, clean, and ethnic clothes i.e clothes that suits your personality. Don't try to imitate others. Make your own style statement.. Don't forget to wear a BINDI & traditional Jewelery with bangles in both the hands.. You can wear a Sari that you otherwise consider to be a little heavy for normal occasions. but keep in mind the comfort.. You should be comfortable in whatever you wear.. Modern day Kurtis with traditional work on front would look very elegant too.. Kids should wear cotton Kurtaa Pyjama.. with little work.. Or even Plain would look stunning on kids.. Don't forget to put TIKA on their forehead.. And male too can wear Kurtaa Pyjama or Short Kurtaa style Shirt with a little work on it with normal Pants or Denim.. Most important of All. Feel happy & contended with Life.. Feel good to Look good.. Thank GOD for whatever he has given to us.. Happy Diwali to All of You..

'Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty.' We all should wear clothes that fit our comfort, not that hanging wavy structures. CHildren should wear normal dress, can be a new kurta payjama or pant shirt of their comfort which is not made of nylon or other fire catching material. Beauty is not our priority than safety. NOrmal dressing, Safe diwali, Happiness in surroundings Will surely ensure safe diwali.

I start preparations from a week before. I clean up my face, make sure i look my radiant best. I pamper myself , giving myself a nice facial, i get a pedicure, manicure, which is more to lift up my spirits than for 'grooming' purposes. On Diwali day, you are supposed to take bath with traditional oils, and have head baths before dawn, so I make sure i have an early bath. And that day is just so holy and so divine, that you can't help but feel glowing and radiant :) But most importantly, diwali is about enjoying yourself , being surrounded by family and friends, so i make sure, whether I am groomed or not, i enjoy myself to the fullest, after all Diwali comes just once a year !! :) **

During Diwali it is not just the people at home who groom themselves for the occasion. The whole house gets a new look. I mean, the works ... Whitewash, repainting, garden also gets a new look with winter season plants like roses, oysters, nastratiums saplings being planted. They usually grow into flowering blooms by December. After the house gets its sparkling look, and all the dirt and dust, cobwebs etc have been cleaned up, you settle down to welcome Diwali D Day. We buy new garlends for the idols in our temple. The "Mandir" is decorated. Early morning on Diwali day, you perform your ritual baths as usual, wear new clothes whenever possible [its not a big deal now anymore] and get sweets for the evening puja. Oil lamps are lighted in evening around the Shubh mahoorat time, and greetings and sweets are exchanged with family and neighbours. Fire crackers too have become minimum now. Pollution consciousness, and besides it is a waste of your hard earned money. Hence No.
