Can I suddenly be allergic to my eyeliner?

How can I prevent my eyeliner from smudging or disappearing throughout the day?

  • I use pencil eyeliner (I'm horrible at applying makeup, and when I tried liquid eyeliner, it went in my eye!) and I'm not a big fan of the liquid eyeliner. However, whenever I apply eyeliner, it always smudges or fades (a LOT) throughout the day. I don't know what causes this, but I'm thinking my skin around my eyes are oily.. How can I prevent my eyeliner from smudging or disappearing?

  • Answer:

I'm not the biggest fan of pencil eyeliner. I prefer liquid or gel to pencil, but if it's what you like/are used to, here are my suggestions :) 1. Use an eyeshadow primer- Urban Decay has a really good one, or if you really don't want to buy one, you can use concealer or foundation, but it doesn't work as well. 2. Set your eyeshadow primer with a loose powder. You can use powder foundation, setting powder, or anything of that nature. You can also use a nude eyeshadow. 3. Apply your pencil eyeliner. 4. This is optional: powder over your pencil eyeliner with a loose powder again. 5. Take a black eyeshadow and go over your eyeliner. This will ensure it will stay...it will absorb your oil and boost lasting time :) Also, it might be because your pencil eyeliner doesn't have good staying power. For drugstore, try Milani Liquif'eye, Revlon Colorstay, or Covergirl Liquiline blast. For high-end, try Urban Decay, MAKE UP FOR EVER, or Stila. Good luck :)

If you apply it in your waterline, I know the perfect way to make it not smudge! 1)Take a Q-tip (not a fluffy one, you don't want fluff in your eye) and run it along your waterline. 2)Take your eyeliner pencil, and apply it in your waterline. 3)Take a skinny eyeshadow brush, dip it in black eyeshadow, and run it along your waterline. Repeat on other eye. If you take time to complete these steps, you'll have perfect eyes in no time!

Well, do you use a primer? Or anything that can makes your eyelids sticky? Liquid foundation works as a primer as well. My conceal that I bought from Skin Food is sticky as well, I use that so my eye make up won't smudge. Or you could use an angle brush, apply a thin layer of black eyeshadow. It helps as well.

Hey, Babe(: . Are you tired of your eyeliners disappearing almost as soon as you apply it? Or perhaps your skin is oilier than most, which leads to a quick makeup meltdown. Read on for a solution that keeps you from having to mess with your makeup all day. -Always begin with clean eyelids. Oil & grime are not conductive to helping eye makeup last longer, & in fact lead to creasing & smudging. Apply foundation not only on your face when you do your makeup, but on your eyelids & around eye area as well. After foundation has been blended, smooth an eye makeup primer onto lids. -Stipple away any creasing in your eye area before applying your colored cosmetics. If your base isn't smooth, you can count on what you build on top of it following suit. -Put on your eyeshadow, or dust translucent powder over your lids if you are wearing only the eyeliner. Use a waterproof pencil that comes in a creamy, high-pigmented formulation. Work the color into your lash lines, in between each lash to define eyes & to guarantee that no skin is showing in between your lash lines & eyeliner. Don't worry about getting it perfect. If you don't have a steady hand, gently smudge the eyeliner with a cotton swab for a smoky effect. -Trace over the liner already on your eyes with either a liquid eyeliner in the same shadow, or with a powder eyeliner in the same shade. If you opt for the powder, use an angled eyeliner brush lightly misted with water. Tap off the excess product before tracing over your first liner. Applying the powder wet gives you a more vibrant & lasting finish. Allow to dry before dipping the brush into the powder eyeshadow again, dry this time. Tap off excess once more & press yet again onto the line already created. Now you have set your makeup & are sure to have eyeliner that lasts much longer. -Clean up under your eyes for a flawless & professional finish. Dusting translucent powder on the undereye area after your makeup application prevents the onslaught of oils which could smudge the eyeliner on your lower lash lines. -For best results, keep each layer of makeup you apply thin & even. -You don't need a thick line to make eyeliner work; keep it simple but polished by staying as close to your lash line as possible. -Etri<3
