What is marketing? Is it the same as selling?

Since I'm selling Avon what are some killer marketing techniques that I can use to sell their products?

    Go to the sales meetings. There is also an online training source. Go to msngroups/avongroups or yahoogroups avon groups. Try putting a sign in your yard(ask your upline/dist sales mgr about one). Get the door hanger bags-fill with a brochure,sample,the sssbug guard magnets, etc. and go hang them on doors in your neighborhood. And take the beauty courses so you can learn more about the products. It takes a while to learn it all, but you will.

I'm a sales rep too. The youravon.com training gives you great tips on selling. To be honest I wouldn't suggest becoming an Erepresentative because I signed up for it and didn't get any hits. Also I on I'm going to do a punch card method where if the customer buys $50 or more on one purchase 8 times they will get their choice of a bundle free. Just an idea Good luck and much success. Glamour Lunch - have an Avon luncheon where office girls either meet at a restaurant or their office cafe and you host the luncheon. Have samples available to try, give some free samples, maybe a free gift, light a candle, give makeup tips & advice, ask for orders right then or leave forms to come back and collect in a few days.....you leave and they finish lunch. In & out within 45 min. - remember it's their lunch hour. You could have a weekly drawing at bridal shops for a Glamour Session with a free gift. Ask a bridal shop if you can drop off a glass dish where women can put their name, address, phone# on a slip of paper, come back every week draw a name and then call your girl.....she'll have her whole wedding party there. Advertise in local community newsletters such as apt. complex, subdivisions, etc. They're usually very cheap.

Go to their meetings/rallies. They have plenty of ideas. If you really come up with a killer scheme that no one has thought of before, you'll be richhhhhhhhhhhhh. But Avon has been around a while, ask the older reps.

samples really help, maybe offer a facial to buyers spending over a certain amount, maybe have an avon party, free gift wrapping, catolog drops at places lots of women work, catalog drops at places men work and say you can save them time and money for buying gifts for their women

Understand what the customer wants. Simple but perhaps the least understood of killer techniques. Once you know, don't waste your time trying to sell to someone where you don't match what they want. For Avon, it's good to show people the new products. People find that interesting. Are they carrying a child?? Maybe you have a children's product. Do they like long baths? Show them your line of bath products.
