How should I do my makeup?

How much makeup should a teenager be wearing?

  • im 14 and i really lik doing makeup, researching about makeup, making makeup and just comparing makeup brands and ther prices and stuff. i just love beauty related stuff in general. well since im lik a young teenager, i dont wear too much makeup. these days i dont even wear makeup on a daily basis but sometimes i would put some mascara, eyeliner and/or eyeshadow for lining my top lashes. i dont put on foundaton because i heard that if you are young, you dont need it. well i was wondering what the appropriate amount of makeup would be for a person my age and mayb what are some good makeup brushes, and just some makeup in general haha thnx! and some good beauty tips, even random!srry for the wierd intro lol k thnx!

Make-up should be used to enhance your natural beauty, not to try and completely change your natural beauty. A teenage girl - and every woman - should only use make-up sparingly in order to correct minor flaws. Foundation should be used to even skin tone and reduce the appearance of blemishes. A powder should be used to set it and keep it from melting, fading, or simply rubbing off throughout the day. Eyeliner may be used to re-define the eyes after the application of foundation. "Cat eyes" is the wrong application. It should just be used to darken the eyes a little in order to make them a little more striking by being applied to the water lines. Mascara should only be used if the eyelashes are thin or short. A majority of women do not need mascara or they apply it wrong. Mascara should elongate your eyelashes and darken them. It should not be clumped and obvious that you're wearing it. Lip stick is useless. Why would you want your lips to be an unnatural color such as black, purple, blue or green? Candy apple red is clownish and irritating to look at. A lip gloss should be used in the winter time to hydrate lips. It should be clear or pale pink. It should be applied sparingly and only when outdoors. Bronzer, primer, anything else is useless. It's just more stuff to cake onto your face. Stuff you don't need. Invest in a good face wash and lotion and you will no longer need foundation. Drink enough water and stop biting your lips and you won't need lip gloss. Eyeliner/mascara is never a requirement, but a majority of women think that it is. I think that women should take care of themselves and eliminate the "problem" rather than irritate and hide it by applying make-up every day.

Hii :) I love make up too! people say that less is more, which i agree with. i'm 17 and i wear foundation, lipgloss, mascara and blush. sone times eye liner if im going out. since you're young, if you need to cover up zits or redness wear concealer. i think its appropriate to wear mascara, lip gloss and some eye shadow in natural colors. really you can wear anything you want if you know how to apply it. if you use black eye liner make sure you get it as close as possible to your eye lash on you eye lid and dont make it look thick. also if youre applying it to your bottom lash, make sure your pencil is sharp and use a THIN line. lol i hope i helped a little :)

I really think it is up to personal preference. If you like wearing a lot of makeup, fine, if you like wearing natural makeup, thats totally fine too. Most teenagers now days are wearing a lot of mascara and eyeliner. I personally think a little bit of eyeliner and light shades of eyeshadow looks good on teens. i think that if you wear too much makeup when you are a teen you can look fake and plastic and that will just defeat the purpose of wearing makeup At the end of the day, whatever floats your boat. Wear what you want, whatever makes you feel beautiful. :)

Ok, here is my opinion..age doesn't have anything to do with this. If you like doing and wearing makeup, Wear it! Don't let people who are like "your too young" stop you! As far as foundation goes, it does not matter how old you are..if you think you need the extra coverage, wear it! I mean, I'm fourteen too. And, I don't let anyone stop me from wearing makeup. As for the makeup and brushes, I don't know what your budget is. But, if you are going for drugstore makeup, I would suggest Covergirl Mascaras, Maybelline Fit Me concealer and foundation, ELF eyelid primer (you need to prime your lids to help prevent fall out and to make colors appear more vibrant.), Maybelline eye shadows, Maybelline Bouncy Blush. For the brushes, ELF (they sell them at Target) makes great brushes. If you are going for more higher end stuff, I suggest you go to Sephora or MAC and speak with a consultant and see what they suggest for you. Remember, overall, MAC and Sephora sell much better quality products than drugstores. But, they are much more expensive! As for beauty tips and tutorials, check out YouTube. The beauty gurus on there have some amazing tutorials and tips! I love YouTube and makeup..haha! :) Hope this helps! Have a fabulous evening! :)

Im 14 too, ur right u shouldn't wear foundation unless ur skin is RREALLY blotchy or horrid, and even then only if u want to and only of a mineral formulation. I wash my face, and moisturize. Then I do: -concealer under eyes -dark brown eyeliner on half of my top/bottom lashlines thinly (curl eyelashes) -black mascara in 1-3 coats, brush out clumps -lip balm -lip gloss, only sometimes Looks like a lot but rly looks natural which is the point of makeup. U could wear blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, fill in brows, and lipstick, but look natural. And I've seen girls our age wear only foundation and bronzer and look horrrible. So whatever u do, keep it looking like yourself but better, know what I mean? Here are my favorite brands for each product I listed above: Concealer: NYX concealer wand for dry skin, NYX concealer in a jar for oily Eyeliner: NYX, elf, or revlon. My favorites are from NYX though, the slide on pencils :) Mascara: boots no 7, elf, almay, or wet n wild. Sometimes I layer mascaras, always brush out clumps Lip balm: burts bees, lush, EOS, softlips, rosebud, say yes to carrots, kiss my face, nivea.. Lip gloss: NYX megashine and elf super glossy (squeeze tubes) All the products I listed are cruelty free
