Does the ELF all over cover stick cover better than the regular ELF concealer?

Which works better for acne/blemish skin? Concealer stick or cover up?

  • Which is better to use and what's the difference? My skin is also a bit flaky and dry so I don't want it to be obvious that I'm covering up blemishes if the cover up/ concealer is uneven.

  • Answer:

Use an abrasive cloth or a cleanser w/ those little micro-beads in 'em to get rid of the flakyness....One that says it's oil-free w/ salicylic acid could help your acne. [But if you have sensitive skin, it might be harsh.] For me, just washing my face some two or 3 times a day [once in the morning, once i get home from school/work, then once at night] and then scrubbing my face w/ a towel to dry it afterword help get the flakes off. [Sidenote: Use an anti-bacterial soap, that's oil-free!!!! Nothing w/ vaseline or extra moisurizers.....] I'd recommend using witch hazel to not over-dry your face, but also help get rid of excess oil. I usually follow this up w/ clean&clear cooling daily toner, especially if you'r pimples have turned into scars...I found it made my skin smoother...Which is good for applying makeup. Personally, I wouldn't use a concealer stick b/c the powder in it will make you look cakey, therefore making the pimples look caked [especially if you have dry parts]. But, I recently found a foundation that oil-free, which doesn't make my skin worse than it is...Oh, and it's a cheap buy, too [$5]. It's called Maybelline Pure Makeup...They say on the cover that it's 50% water, oil-free, and is also shine-free.[Although, once I get home from where ever I am, I wash like crazy....I don't want that stuff to sit in my pores for longer than it has to...Afterall, the other 50% that isn't water is gonna get in your pores and clog] Personally, I wouldn't use makeup unless your going out at night...You don't wanna clog up your face more. But! If it's a must, look for the oil-free foundations. And washwashwash!

There really one in the same. Just remember to pick one that's not oil based, otherwise it will add to the problem.

Use Clearasil products

tee treeoil blemish stick! concealer and cover up are not going to do anything except clog your pours and make the blemish worse. I use french milled soap........its not drying....you can get it cheap at ross or marshalls............comes in tons of fragrences. Use tea tree oil blemish stick.......you can find it in the health food aisle. Get rid of them.......don't just cover them!

I think you should treat the problem before you cover it up. There are a lot of products in the drugstores now that are strictly for treating acne. And I believe that there is also a special foundation for acne/blemish prone skin. But just covering it up will excaberate the problem, and you want to heal it.

Honestly the best is nothing at all. But if you must there are some newer products on the market with makeup blended in the blemish product....I know Almay has one, try that. But my neighbor is a dermatologist and he says the absolute best thing you can do for your skin is drink plenty of H2O.

Primary is to clean your face - that way acne will slowy calm down as they thrive on every day dirt that accumulates on our skin if your skin is dry find a good light moisturiser in a lotion - Nivea does it and surely other brands as well. Use Clearsil or Nivea Young to clean morning and evening, drink lots lots of water and apply foundation - if you can go to Clinique - they will find right one for you. Concealer stick is usually thick but there is not much difference good luck
