Why is my scar so much darker than the rest of my skin?

• Contractubex is making my scar more reddish, is this normal? i have a 1 month old scar that i got from a fight with my father, it is a long line near my left elbow. It's a long story, and to make it short, my father threw at me a plastic chair, and somehow the edge part of the chair's leg scraped at my elbow's skin, leaving a long line of wound. Now it's still there, it's kind of a reddish line scar, and i really am worried if it will stay there forever. I wish at the least it would heal up to a point where it would get less conspicuous. I know this is gonna take months..or worse, years to heal up to that point, and i am really hating it each day i wake up! So i have two questions: 1. Is this scar gonna stay for the rest of my life? cause i really hope it doesn't!! it's ugly!! If not, would it at least heal to a point where it would get less conspicuous? and, 2. I have been applying the scar-purpose ointment known as Contractubex for more than 3 weeks now, and the scar is showing no, or little improvement, and if i'm not paranoid, i think the medicine is only getting the scar turn red more, since till now, it still has that noticeable red color, and i don't know if it is normal! shouldn't the red nature of the scar be fading away by now???? thanks.

  Scars heal and turn white after time, when they start to heal they turn brown, to pink, to flesh color again. Your scar is fine, just keep applying cause it takes a while. But you could look up if anyone has had allergies to contractubex.
