How do I know that my hair is damaged or breaking off and is there a shampoo to use to restore my damage hair?

  • I have noticed that my hair is not as thick and that it has been thinning out. i also noticed that around the edges my hair has broken off. what can i do to keep it from getting worse. also maybe it is the perms that i get that is damaging my hair. does anybody have any tips or suggestions for my damage hair. being a african american, i am worried i will have to stop perming my hair. what should i do?

    You should get a more nourishing and less harsh shampoo, a lot of shampoos take away natural moisture from your hair leaving it damaged, get a shampoo with a protein base. However conditioner is a way more important step in keeping your hair looking shiney, get a good conditioner also with protein or vitamins in it, and leave it on your hair for a few minutes and rinse, even if it doesn't mention how long to leave it in for, conditioners penetrate your hair best when kept on for awhile. Well, your hair is obviously damaged, and You can do something. You can get a special shampoo for permed hair, or you can get Aussie Moisturizing Shampoo, and Aussie Deep Conditioning Conditioner they really help damaged hair. I had really really dry hair, and I started using this stuff, and now, it is soft and silky smooth.
