How do you keep your hair straight after you've already straightened it?

What hair care products can you use to keep hair straightened all day?

• I originally have THICK and CURLY hair. I heard you can use baby lotion and oils in your hair but won't it burn it!? I want to have silky smooth hair that DOESN'T make it look like you have split ends. What products can I use??

  I have really thick & wavy hair too, I like to call it naturally tangley- not quite curly. One of the things I've tried and had really good results with is a product by Garnier that semi-permanently straightens your hair for "7-10 washes" according to the box, it lasted about 2 or 3 days on my hair. It comes in a small green box & you do it a lot like hair dye. It kept my hair really smooth and perfect. My hair usually starts to curl around the hair line and at the longest ends within a few hours without it. As for keeping the ends looking nice, there's a product by Chi that comes in a silver bottle with a red cap that's called silk infusion. It's a serum, and I rub it on my hands & then run my fingers through my hair. It really makes my hair silky and the ends look really nice. It smells fantastic too. It's not too heavy or greasy, which is a problem I notice with other similar products.
