What is the best hair dryer under $50?

I am a 22 years old female and in good health. But I am losing my hair as it grows longer. Why?

  • Ever since I could remember when I try to grow my hair longer (past shoulder length) I will get a hand full (atleast 15-20) of hair strands. At one point I thought I wasn't drinking enough milk but increase of milk showed no differences. I've tested this by cutting my hair short (a little below my chin) and I only had the usual 1-5 strands come out. I shower every day using Brilliant Brunette and only 50% of the times do I use a blow dryer because thats what I thought was causing it. Ironically, it seems to improve slightly the morning after I blowdry. Why is this happening? And what can I do to help it since I want to continue to grow my hair longer????

  • Answer:

First, it's not that you are loosing more hair. We all loose a lot of hair every day. When you have long hair it just sppears you are loosing more because you see it mote, when you blowdry it you don't see it either because it is being blown away and lost. You are worrying about a natural occurance. Now that many hairs is not as handfull. A handfull is like when they cut your long hair and you can literally pick up a handfull. The amount you are talikng about is normal. Don't worry but keep eating well to stay healthy. We loose skin cells and organ cells and our bodies are constantly renewing the cells as we grow and age. When we get older it slows down and the aging process is taking place....then you don't regrow all those lost hairs, and you need to wait for that to happen to start worrying please! Enjoy being young and healthy for now.

i heard that many hairs grow out of the same follicle, so when the new hair grows out the old hair gets pushed out. you can ask your doctor about this if you notice your hair thinning out. do you lose 15-20 strands every time you pull it? or is it throughout the day.

what you describe really is normal, women shed a lot of hair all year long. Unless you are having bald spots, you don't need to worry, it is normal to lose up to one hundred hairs a day.

I'd see a doctor as soon as possible. You might have something wrong with your thyroid or worse.

I don't know but i can tell you one thing.... I wouldn't be fooling around on yahoo answers I would see a doctor.

hey there

To me I feel that it is normal. Because based on individual, your hair gets heavier when it's longer, and some scalp cannot manage with the weight, thus drops. It's normal to drop up to a 100 strands a day. But when your hair is short, the rate it drops is slower.

is your hair falling out or breaking off? there is a difference and the longer your hair is.. the more susseptable to breakage it is. if it is in fact falling out it could be a few things.. most likely it will be: you arent getting the right vitamins/ neutrients your hair follicles are blocked or "dirty" what you can do: take a multi vitamin with high amounts of folic acid (this is a key neutrient to hair growth) other good vitamins for hair are- vitamin c, flax seed oil or fish oil (with omega 3 fatty acid), vitamin E , vitamin B complex when you shower and wash you hair, "massage" your scalp to help open your follicles and cleanse them. If you hair is oily especially... some people will tell you that natural hair oils are good for your hair, but in this case the oils may be blocking your hair follicles and causing the new hair growth not to come through some other things to try- you may need to change your shapoo or use a "clarifying" shampoo like every other day from your normal shampoo but i would go to sally beauty supply and they have a brand called follicure hair products.. it is for thinning ohair and hair loss they have many differnt products so read the lables to see what you think your hair needs most. If nothing else- start with a shampoo for thinning hair and hair loss. THis will be the least expensive of the products and it is a good start. Oh and make sure you are drinking lots of water and milk, juice.. not a lot of sugary stuff or a lot of caffiene.. they can effect hair growth If you smoke or do drugs then it can effect your hair growth too
