How can I get my hair to grow thicker?
-
Hi everyone! Im 15 yrs old and I want my hair to be thick. When I was 10, my hair was super thick and now it is super thin! I think it has something to do with me not getting any hair cuts. I was thinking of trimming my hair, but how many in. should I cut off? And also, is there any tips or hair products that could make my hair thicker? In my case of opinion, I HATE short hair on me! I look horrible! I would prefer long hair... Can anyone please help? Thanks! -Natalie

Answer:
If your hair used to be thick, your hair should ALWAYS be thick, unless they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening tools, curling iron, etc. Hormones has a lot to do with it, too. My hair is as thick as when I was in HS, the only difference? The length & the color. I cut my hair 4" a year. Try cutting your hair even 1-2" a month, you don't have to cut them too long, but cutting them can make the rest evenly thicker. Hair grows 3/4" a month - for me anyways. If you've straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all. Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair" - Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don't expect to look like you've stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you've changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results. Hair is dead, but hair also has electrical energy; the negative charge of damaged hair can lead to flyways and unruly hair. Man-made products & supplements can do more harm than good. Beginning in February 2008, they experienced one symptom after another: diarrhea, joint pain, HAIR LOSS, lung problems, and fingernails and toenails that fell off. FDA has received numerous reports of harm associated with the use of these products, including stroke, liver injury, kidney failure, heart palpitations, and death. 3-15-11.
