Can I bleach my hair when it's wet?

My hair is breaking off when wet because of bleach, what should I do?

  • I got my hair bleached and colored by this lady. Since then every time my hair is wet, if I pull it even a little bit, a whole bunch of strands break off....THEY'RE NOT FALLING, THERE BREAKING. And before I had this done, my hair always had a few strands fall out because it's so long. Since then it's been excessive, now when it's dry it's fine. I'm so upset I wanna just shave it all off and start over...but not really. Is there anything I can do to make it stop breaking when wet? My hair has always been my only asset, and I've already decided no more chemicals(ESPECIALLY BLEACH). Thanks. :)-So please any advice would help!!

    You need to make a trip to Sally's. Buy their generic hair reconstructor. Trust me, it works wonders. Also, get a yellow tub, it's a deep conditioner called L'oreal's Natures Therapy Mega Moisture(use this as a regular conditioner, you need the extra moisture). Also, make a trip to walmart and get a masque by L'oreal called Everstrong. Also, get Mane n' Tail shampoo(it's very gentle.) Wash your hair only on Sunday's. Condition your hair every day. Make sure and leave conditioner in your hair the ENTIRE shower while you're washing/shaving(that way it's like you get a deep conditioner every time you shower. Apply the masque 1-2 hours before you take a shower on Sunday's, then wash, and condition. A couple times during the week use the hair reconstructor. Apply it in your hair for three to five minutes and then wash it out and condition your hair for the remainder of the shower. Leave your hair up in a loose ponytail as often as possible. Always let your hair air dry. Stop straightning. Find a hairstyle you can live with where you use absolutly NO heatstyling. When your hair is dry after showers place a small amount of conditioner on the ends of your hair to protect it. Take hair vitamins: A multivitamin + Biotin which will mke your hair grow in fuller, thicker, and some say faster(you decide that.) Take olive oil from the kitchen and heat it up(not steaming hot, just hot to the touch without burning) and apply that to your ends and leave it on as long as possible. Wash out, condition. You do this and your hair will come back to life, I promise!! I've been where you are, that's why I'm an expert

Any hair is more fragile when wet especially hair that has been bleached...i would suggest a series of reconstructive treatments to restore some lost moisture to ur strands... A good one 2 try is IC Reconst uctor by Fantasia, its amazing!!! Also try not to heat style until ur hair is in better condition... A good solid trim will also help ur strands look better too... Good luck!!!

There a product called Emergency....I think it's made by redken. It has fibers that bond to bleached hair that's breaking off, and helps keep it in tact. I've also seen some remarkable results with the Brazillian Keratin Treatment (that has to be done at a salon though) but it looks like it's worth it.

Garnier Fructis has worked WONDERS on my hair. My hair has been through everything: bleach, heat . Even their shampoo makes my hair soft! Grab any product that says for dry or damaged hair. They also have a great deep conditioning treatment, and several leave-in conditioners.

Go to a beauty supply and get Hishiki System 911 conditioner. Gently wash your hair then towel dry your hair - squeeze the water out don't rough it up. Then put in the 911 and sleep with it in. Then wash it out in the morning and reapply the conditioner and rinse. How long is your hair? How far down on the strand is it breaking? Eventually you will have to trim it up closer to the breaking point. 911 should help keep it from breaking but once hair has lost it's tensile strength from over-processing it's very. very hard to get it back. Unfortunately I have to suggest some trimming.
