What is the length of a postcard?

What length is considered to be long hair?

  • I have been told all my life that I have beautiful, long hair. I'm sure many of you have heard the phrase, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." But doesn't that work for length also? I'm not complaining about the length of my hair. I've had my hair at variable lengths, from my shoulders to my butt, and no matter what length it was I've dealt with the pros and con. Sometimes I'd want to style it but most of the time I didn't even want to comb it. But there is something I would really like to know. Is there a secret hair length chart that I don't know about? If some one has hair down to there feet (which I'll haven't tried, waist length is too much upkeep) than of course waist length hair would seem short to them. But if some one had shoulder length hair than wouldn't waist length hair seem long to them? I think it just depends on what side of the spectrum you're on. But if there IS a chart or hidden rule to hair measurement can some one fill me in because I don't like feeling clueles

  • Answer:

I think you are right, considerable hair length would depend on the person. But I guess most people would agree that "long hair" would at least come up to the shoulders. I consider long hair to come down to someone's bottom.

In a few hairstyling shops, I've seen diagrams and short hair is above the shoulders, medium length hair it to about bottom of the shoulder blade, and long hair is anything longer than that. Hope to be of help. =]

Silly Larah

Long hair is from the shoulders down.

I too have been searching for this hypothetical hair chart! In my opinion, anything longer that a few inches below your shoulders is long, hair at and above your shoulders is medium length, and anything around your chin is short. Hope I could help.

Don't think that there is a chart, but I have always wondered how they determine that also...especially when charging for a haircut. My hair always seems to be "long". I have always just assumed if it is past my shoulders it is long (at least according to what I pay for the cut). Hope that helps :)
