Where can I find organic powdered dye?

Where can I find pink or purple hair dye that you don't have to bleach your hair first?

  • I'm African-American and my hair is a DARK brown. But I want to dye my hair with either purple or pink hair dye. Do any of you know where I could find those colors of dye without having to bleach my hair first?

  • Answer:

Try calling some cosmetology schools. REDLIGHTS have lighteners in them, but they are for professional use only. They do have some purplish ones! Call some salons and see what they have~!

I get my electric blue hair dye at Walgreens for like four dollars by Hot Head. It works well with my hair even though it is similar to African-American hair texture and it is Dark Brown. You may want to try it, however, it sometimes makes your hair look like you have a lot of gel or hair spray on so it may not be the best but it smells good. Oh I forgot to mention that it is a wash-out hair colour dye.

Loreal has a product called Color Rays. It is made especially for dark hair. The only shades I have seen are red and fuschia. I tried the red, and the color turned out very vibrant on my dark brown hair. Good luck!

Well, you could possibly look around town. My mom went to a store and got dye to dye my brothers hair blue. But his hair is a dirty blond, I'm not exactly sure if I can help you. Possibly a gothic store, or maybe use different hair dyes to make a possible hair color!

Ive seen a dye that was a bright red color specifically made for dark hair but not a pink or purple. You are most likely going to have to bleach it, ive got dark brown/black hair and i know of nothing that shows up well without bleaching first.

Yaya!

Do they really have dye like that? Freakin' sweet! Well actually I'm not sure if they do...unless it has like peroxide and developer in it already..? I don't think that's possible?

I love you so much, Bill <3

Pink wouldn't work, but you'd prolly be able to dye your hair a nice eggplantish color :) I've dyed my hair most colors of the rainbow and it's pretty tough to get anything to show up on brown hair Special Effects is good, they have that at Hot Topic, but you could easily find a purpleish black permanent color in a drugstore Good Luck!! :)

Try synthetic hair extensions. I have had pink extensions in my hair for the past 15 weeks and I love them. They do not fade with time and can be heated to curl or be straightened. I have worn them for the past year solely to add colour to my hair. You can dye your own hair and the synthetic extensions don't pick up the colours. They don't ruin your hair and come in a wide range of colours and you can change the colours ever 12-14 wks without damaging your own hair. They are great!
