How long does Lexapro's effect last?

Home straighteners/curlers - how long does the effect last and is it harmful to use them?

  • I've heard straightening or curling your hair at the parlour permanently damages your hair...if i do the same at home using curling tongs or an iron, will it be less harmful? How long will the effect last? thanks :)

  • Answer:

That is ridiculous. If you use a PERMANENT hair relaxer or wave at the salon it is damaging to your hair. Smoothing and curling irons do not damage your hair any more than a blow dryer would, and if you protect it properly and have the correct tools you can counteract it easily. I would wash with a nutrient rich shampoo, like Paul Mitchell Moisture line so you start with your hair is healthy as possible. Before you blow dry put on a heat protector like Paul Mitchell Heat Seal, of Hot off the Press, and apply some Super Skinny Serum to keep your frizz low. After you blow dry I would put on a bit more of the heat protectant and have the time of your life with the iron. As long as you buy a good one and not a cheap twenty dollar model at the pharmacy, it will not damage your hair. Paul Mitchell Ion Style is a great iron for curling and smoothing out. The curls or straightness will last until you wash it, though it might have to be refreshed on day two, going over some parts a second time. The Main Switch Beauty Salon

yeah they are very harmful and do damage your hair permanently. if you use them too often, your hair will become very dry and burn off. try to save them for special occasions only.

yes they will damage your hair if you use them all the time. but there are products you can buy, such as heat protection spray, to help keep your hair healthy while using irons. you can find heat protection spray at any health & beauty store. hope this helps!
