How to build a clientele as a hairstylist?

What is the best way for a hairstylist in a new city to build up a clientele?

  • I just moved from North Dakota to Colorado and I dont know one person here, besides the people i work with.

  • Answer:

I would try to volunteer cut hair for people that can't afford it, or are homeless. The more you give away the more you will get in return. Maybe a rich old lady ( i would normally write a philanthropist) will notice your caring giving nature and offer to cut her and her friends hair... Just a thought...

ummmm, well you can always provide services cheaper as some sort of deal in the beginning, and if they like your style, they will tell a friend, who knows a friend, and your clientele should pick up. you can raise the prices back up afterwards!

the best way to make money is to spend it advertize weather it be a sidewalk sign, newspaper, buisness cards, or T.V.also the best advetisment is word of mouth. find some one you know you can make look better and do their hair for free (something she can easily take care of without your assistance other people will notice and you will have clients)
